Adding Files, Collaborators and Songs

Managing Files and Collaborators

Organizing your assets

Proper file management and collaborator setup are essential for a smooth sync licensing experience.

File management

Use the file manager to upload and organize your audio files, stems, and supporting documents. Keep your files well-organized so you can quickly provide any additional assets that may be requested during the licensing process.

Adding collaborators

Collaborators are the writers, producers, and other contributors involved in your music. Adding them to your songs ensures accurate rights documentation and proper credit when placements occur.

Collaborator types

  • Writers — Songwriters who contributed to the composition (lyrics and/or melody)
  • Publishers — Publishing entities that control a share of the composition rights
  • Recording participants — Labels, producers, or other parties with a stake in the master recording

Managing splits

When adding collaborators, you'll specify the ownership percentage each party holds. Make sure all splits are agreed upon and accurately documented. Splits should add up to 100% for both the composition and the master recording.
